Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Welcome to Childcare Finder. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, platform, services, features, content, and related tools, collectively referred to as the “Platform.”
By accessing or using Childcare Finder, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.
1. About Childcare Finder
Childcare Finder is an online marketplace designed to help parents and guardians find childcare providers and help childcare providers advertise their services.
The Platform may allow childcare providers to create profiles or listings, and parents or guardians to browse listings, contact providers, and access childcare-related information.
Childcare Finder is not a daycare, childcare centre, babysitting agency, employment agency, licensing body, or government regulator. We do not provide childcare services directly. We provide an online platform that allows parents, guardians, and childcare providers to connect.
2. User eligibility
To use the Platform, you must be at least the age of majority in your province, territory, state, or country of residence.
By using the Platform, you confirm that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
If you are using the Platform on behalf of a childcare business, daycare, dayhome, organization, or other entity, you confirm that you have authority to represent that business or entity.
3. Accounts
Certain features of the Platform may require you to create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep your information updated.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to share your account with anyone else or allow another person to access the Platform using your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that we believe violates these Terms or creates risk for other users, children, families, providers, or the Platform.
4. Role of Childcare Finder
Childcare Finder is a platform that helps connect parents and childcare providers. We do not employ, supervise, control, endorse, or guarantee any childcare provider, parent, guardian, or user.
We do not guarantee that:
- A childcare provider is licensed, certified, insured, qualified, available, or suitable.
- A parent or guardian is trustworthy, suitable, or able to pay for services.
- Any information in a profile, listing, message, review, or communication is accurate or complete.
- A childcare arrangement will be successful, safe, legal, or appropriate.
Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into any childcare arrangement.
5. Responsibility of parents and guardians
Parents and guardians are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting childcare providers.
Before hiring, contacting, visiting, or entering into any arrangement with a childcare provider, parents and guardians should take reasonable steps to verify the provider’s background, licensing status, qualifications, references, experience, insurance, policies, safety practices, location, and suitability.
Parents and guardians are responsible for making their own decisions and agreements with childcare providers. Childcare Finder is not responsible for any childcare arrangement made between users.
6. Responsibility of childcare providers
Childcare providers are solely responsible for ensuring that their listings, profiles, advertisements, and communications are accurate, lawful, professional, and not misleading.
Childcare providers are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, safety standards, employment obligations, tax obligations, and childcare rules that apply to their services.
Providers must not claim to be licensed, certified, approved, insured, or affiliated with any organization unless that claim is true and can be verified.
Providers are responsible for maintaining the quality, safety, legality, and professionalism of the childcare services they offer.
7. No background checks or guarantees
Unless clearly stated otherwise in writing, Childcare Finder does not conduct background checks, criminal record checks, vulnerable sector checks, licensing checks, reference checks, identity verification, home inspections, or qualification checks on users.
Any verification badge, profile feature, or label shown on the Platform should not be interpreted as a guarantee of safety, quality, legality, licensing, or suitability unless specifically explained.
Users are responsible for independently verifying any information that matters to their decision.
8. Child safety
Child safety is extremely important. Users must not use the Platform in any way that harms, exploits, endangers, harasses, abuses, or puts children at risk.
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, report concerns to appropriate authorities, and take any action we consider necessary if we believe a user may pose a risk to children, families, providers, or the community.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services immediately.
9. User content
Users may be able to post, upload, submit, or share content, including profiles, listings, descriptions, photos, messages, reviews, and other information.
You are solely responsible for the content you post on the Platform.
By posting content, you confirm that:
- You own the content or have permission to use it.
- The content is accurate and not misleading.
- The content does not violate any law, regulation, third-party right, or these Terms.
- The content does not include harmful, abusive, discriminatory, offensive, false, fraudulent, or inappropriate material.
You grant Childcare Finder a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and promote your content for the purpose of operating, improving, and marketing the Platform.
We may remove or edit user content at any time if we believe it violates these Terms or creates risk for the Platform or other users.
10. Prohibited uses
You agree not to use the Platform to:
- Post false, misleading, fraudulent, or inaccurate information.
- Impersonate another person, business, provider, or organization.
- Harass, threaten, abuse, exploit, discriminate against, or harm another user.
- Upload unlawful, offensive, inappropriate, sexual, violent, discriminatory, or harmful content.
- Collect or misuse personal information from other users.
- Use the Platform for illegal, unsafe, or unauthorized purposes.
- Bypass payment systems, subscription requirements, or access restrictions.
- Interfere with the security, functionality, or operation of the Platform.
- Scrape, copy, or harvest data from the Platform without permission.
- Post spam, advertisements, scams, or unrelated services.
- Misrepresent licensing, credentials, insurance, experience, availability, rates, or services.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate this section.
11. Payments and subscriptions
Childcare Finder may charge fees for certain features, including provider listings, parent access, messaging, contact features, premium placement, featured listings, or other services.
Subscription fees, billing periods, renewal terms, and cancellation rules will be shown at the time of purchase.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize us or our third-party payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the applicable fees.
Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You are responsible for cancelling your subscription before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue.
Fees are non-refundable unless required by law or clearly stated otherwise.
12. Provider subscriptions
Childcare providers may be required to pay a subscription fee to create, publish, or maintain a listing on the Platform.
Payment for a provider subscription does not guarantee inquiries, bookings, clients, revenue, visibility, ranking, search placement, or business results.
We reserve the right to approve, reject, remove, or suspend provider listings at our discretion, including listings that are incomplete, misleading, inappropriate, unlawful, inactive, or inconsistent with the purpose of the Platform.
13. Parent subscriptions or access fees
Parents or guardians may be required to pay a fee to access certain features, including contacting providers, viewing full provider details, sending inquiries, or using premium search features.
Payment for parent access does not guarantee that a parent will find suitable childcare, receive a response from providers, secure a childcare spot, or enter into a successful childcare arrangement.
14. Cancellations
Users may cancel their subscription according to the cancellation process provided on the Platform or through the applicable payment provider.
Cancellation stops future billing but does not automatically provide a refund for prior charges or unused time, unless required by law or stated otherwise.
15. Third-party payment processors
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers, such as Stripe or another payment processor.
Your payment information may be handled directly by the payment processor, not by Childcare Finder. Your use of payment services may be subject to the payment processor’s own terms and privacy policy.
We are not responsible for payment processor errors, delays, declined payments, fees, account restrictions, or other issues caused by third-party providers.
16. Communications between users
The Platform may allow parents and childcare providers to communicate with each other.
Users are responsible for their own communications, meetings, interviews, visits, agreements, and childcare arrangements.
You agree to communicate respectfully, honestly, and professionally.
We may monitor, review, restrict, or remove communications where permitted by law and where necessary to protect the Platform, enforce these Terms, prevent misuse, or respond to safety concerns.
17. Off-platform arrangements
Any childcare arrangement, payment, contract, interview, visit, trial period, or agreement made between users is solely between those users.
Childcare Finder is not a party to any agreement between parents and childcare providers.
We are not responsible for disputes, injuries, losses, damages, cancellations, payment issues, service quality, licensing issues, safety concerns, or legal claims arising from arrangements made through or outside the Platform.
18. Reviews and feedback
The Platform may allow users to leave reviews, ratings, testimonials, or feedback.
Reviews must be honest, respectful, accurate, and based on genuine experiences.
You may not post fake reviews, misleading reviews, paid reviews, retaliatory reviews, defamatory statements, or reviews that violate another person’s privacy.
We reserve the right to remove reviews that we believe violate these Terms or create legal, safety, or reputational risk.
19. Search results and rankings
Provider listings may appear in search results based on factors such as location, relevance, availability, subscription level, listing quality, activity, or other criteria.
We do not guarantee any specific ranking, placement, traffic, views, inquiries, leads, or results.
Featured or promoted listings may receive additional visibility if such features are offered.
20. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using the Platform, you agree that we may collect, use, and disclose personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for respecting the privacy of other users and must not misuse personal information obtained through the Platform.
21. Intellectual property
The Platform, including its design, branding, logo, text, graphics, features, software, layout, and content, is owned by or licensed to Childcare Finder and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or exploit any part of the Platform without our written permission.
22. Availability of the Platform
We aim to keep the Platform available and functional, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available.
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time without notice.
23. Disclaimer of warranties
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Childcare Finder makes no warranties or representations about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, safety, legality, availability, or suitability of the Platform, users, listings, providers, parents, communications, or childcare arrangements.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
24. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Childcare Finder, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, partners, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the Platform.
This includes damages related to childcare arrangements, user conduct, provider services, parent decisions, inaccurate listings, missed opportunities, payment issues, safety incidents, injuries, losses, disputes, or inability to use the Platform.
25. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Childcare Finder, its owners, directors, employees, contractors, partners, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including legal fees, arising from:
- Your use of the Platform.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your content, listings, messages, or communications.
- Your childcare services or childcare arrangements.
- Your violation of any law, regulation, licensing requirement, or third-party right.
- Any dispute between you and another user.
26. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Platform at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk, misused the Platform, or acted in a way that harms users, children, families, providers, or Childcare Finder.
You may stop using the Platform at any time.
Termination does not remove any payment obligations, legal responsibilities, or sections of these Terms that should reasonably continue after termination.
27. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we may post the updated Terms on the Platform and update the “Last Updated” date.
Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
28. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the applicable laws of Canada.
Any disputes related to these Terms or the Platform will be handled in the courts located in Saskatchewan, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
